Pistol Size Groups
When building your customized* firearm, be sure to choose a frame, slide, and barrel from the same size group.
Subcompact with Subcompact, Compact with Compact, Full-Size with Full-Size.
Subcompact Pistols
A subcompact pistol is smaller and lighter than a compact pistol, has a lower capacity (often 8 - 10 rounds), and are designed primarily for concealed carry. Barrel lengths start at about 3 inches which makes them easy to carry, especially when carrying concealed.
Compact Pistols
A compact pistol falls between full-size and subcompact pistols, offering a smaller size and lighter weight while still providing excellent magazine capacity (typically 15 - 20 rounds), and a suitable grip for handling and accuracy. They strike a good balance between concealed carry and range performance.
Full-Size Pistols
A full-size pistol is larger in size and heavier than compact or subcompact pistols. They typically have longer barrel lengths, larger grips, and magazine capacities of 17 or more. Full-size pistols are often preferred for home defense and range use.
